Tom Cruise to Kick Off Mission: Impossible Week On Fallon’s Tonight Show

Jimmy Kimmel threw down the gauntlet a couple of weeks ago when he welcomed the cast of Marvel’s Thunderbolts to Jimmy Kimmel Live! for a joint interview, but late night’s other Jimmy  will be returning the volley with a different summer blockbuster next week.

Each day next week, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon will be welcoming a different cast member from Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, starting on Monday, May 19th, with Ethan Hunt himself, Tom Cruise.

Cruise will be making his fifth visit to Fallon’s Tonight Show overall, but his first in seven years.

And as they say on TV,  that’s not all: Tuesday will see a visit from another of the film’s stars as Simon Pegg makes his third appearance with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show. On Wednesday, Fallon will be joined by French actress Pom Klementieff, who plays the assassin Paris in the film, and closing out the week on Thursday will be British actress Hayley Atwell, who plays professional thief Grace.

Though Fallon’s Tonight Show has done takeover weeks with major musicians in the past—including BTS and Bruce Springsteen—next week will be the first time in recent memory that the show has booked four stars from the same film or television project over four successive nights.

The Final Reckoning, the eighth film in the Mission: Impossible franchise, opens in theaters next Friday, May 23rd. Though it was originally announced as the final chapter of the series, Cruise (who both produces and stars) has since stated that he’s open to further sequels.
