Daily Show Starts Spring Break Early, Is Dark Thursday—Get Return Date

Comedy Central’s “Best F**king News Team” has broken for spring break a bit early.

After airing three original episodes earlier this week, The Daily Show will go dark tonight, Thursday, April 2. In its stead, a pair of Family Guy episodes will fill the 11 p.m. ET hour as Jon Stewart, this week’s co-anchor Desi Lydic et al. get an early jump on a planned week-long hiatus.

The Daily Show will return with a run of all-new episodes Monday, April 13.

The Daily Show is but the latest of the late-night programs to cycle through spring breaks this year. CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert took off the week of March 23, ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! is on spring break this week, HBO’s Last Week Tonight with John Oliver is taking this coming Sunday off, NBC’s Late Night with Seth Meyers is in the midst of a three-week hiatus (returning April 20), and NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon kicks off a two-week vacation April 7.

What is new this Thursday night? The Tonight Show welcomes returning SNL host and Super Mario Galaxy Movie star Jack Black, Olivia Munn (Your Friends & Neighbors), Jaafar Jackson (star of the upcoming Michael Jackson biopic), and a musical performance by MODI; The Late Show will be visited by music legend Paul Simon and actor/comedian Ramy Youssef; and there also are fresh episodes of Watch What Happens LiveComics UnleashedGutfeld!, and Nightline.
