The Daily Show, Kimmel and After Midnight Are Dark This Week

That’s a wrap for 2024 for The Daily Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and After Midnight, as the three late night shows begin an extended holiday break today.

Those looking for Jon Stewart and Jimmy Kimmel’s take on the news will be out of luck for the next three weeks, as both shows won’t be back with new episodes until January 6th.

That’s also the next time we’ll see a new episode of CBS’ After Midnight—even though the network’s flagship late-night show, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, is continuing to produce new episodes this week.

Colbert’s guests this week are set to include actress Nicole Kidman on Monday night, and musician Elton John on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, NBC is the only network churning out a completely new slate of late-night episodes this week. The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon has a big week ahead. On Monday, Jimmy Fallon welcomes former Saturday Night Live castmate Fred Armisen. (The two are both starring in Simon Rich’s new Broadway show All In, though not concurrently.) On Wednesday, Nate Bargatze will drop by to promote his new Lorne Michaels-produced holiday special.

Darlene Love will serve as musical guest that same night, in her long-awaited return to late-night TV with “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home).” And on Thursday, Fallon and The Roots will ring out the year with a performance of their own.

New episodes of Late Night with Seth Meyers will follow Fallon each night. Meyers’ guests this week include Kerry Washington, Billy Eichner, Hoda Kotb, and on Thursday, his longtime SNL buddies John Mulaney and Simon Rich.

Saturday Night Live will cap the week with its own new episode—its last of the year—featuring host Martin Short and musical guest Hozier.

Correction: An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated The Daily Show‘s return date. The show is set to air its first show of 2025 on January 6th. We regret the error.

Won’t miss any of them except for Stewart & Bill Maher who are the only ones worth watching . The others , especially Kimmel, Colbert , Oliver & Meyers can never come back as far as I’m concerned. Go on a vacation with the View girls to Mars. Elon will provide the transportation. Fallon can come back. At least he has comedic talent as opposed to the others who just do stand up with a stable of writers who just write Trump bashing jokes.
