SNL Gets Little Golden Book Treatment in Funko Pop! Release

You’re never too young to start building your SNL book collection. David Croatto’s Saturday Night Live Little Golden Book (Funko Pop!) hits shelves on March 11, 2025.

Published by Golden Books for its Little Golden Book division, Saturday Night Live Little Golden Book (Funko Pop!) will reimagine beloved SNL characters and skits, ranging from the Coneheads to the classic “more cowbell” sketch, in Funko Pop style for young readers.

The book is aimed at kids 2-5 years old, along with, of course, their nostalgic parents who are actually purchasing the item. Pairing Little Golden Books with Funko Pops makes for a retro singularity a lot of SNL-loving parents are going to have a tough time avoiding, not to mention fans without any tykes in their lives.

The Little Golden Book series, which first began publishing in 1942, has teamed up with Funko on several occasions in recent years. Other collabs have included F is for Friends: An Alphabet Book, as well as Croato’s Seinfeld book, Who Are These People?. Stranger Things and Gilmore Girls editions are also slated for release next year.

2025 is shaping up to be a big year for SNL books. On top of the new Little Golden Book—which fittingly arrives just three weeks after the NBC show’s three-hour 50th anniversary special—the long-awaited Lorne Michaels biography, Lorne: The Man Who Invented Saturday Night Live, is scheduled for a Feb. 18 release.

In addition, Mary Ellen Matthews’ The Art of the SNL Portrait hits stores on March 4, while the 50th anniversary edition of Doug Hill and Jeff Weingrad’s Saturday Night: A Backstage History of Saturday Night Live debuted earlier this month.

Funko is also celebrating the show’s landmark 50th season with a special Funko Pop collection, which includes five different classic SNL sketch characters to choose from.

That’s in addition to previous SNL Funkos, including several of those pictured on the cover to the new Little Golden Book. There hasn’t been a Diondre Cole from What Up With That? just yet, but given his appearance on the cover, we wouldn’t be surprised to see his figure available down the road.

Saturday Night Live Little Golden Book (Funko Pop!) is available for preorder now.
