SNL Taps Teyana Taylor, Alexander Skarsgård to Host January Episodes

Saturday Night Live has revealed its hosts and musical guests for later this month, including the headliners for its landmark 1,000th episode.

As revealed on-air during SNL’s Christmas episode, the show’s first episode of 2026 on January 17 will feature host Finn Wolfhard and musical guest A$AP Rocky. That episode will mark the SNL debut for the Stranger Things actor, and A$AP Rocky’s first time as musical guest.

On January 24, hosting duties will go to actress Teyana Taylor—most recently seen in the Oscar contender One Battle After Another. (In a bit of serendipity, the film featured former SNL writer Jim Downey, and was directed by Maya Rudolph’s husband, Paul Thomas Anderson.) While it will be Taylor’s first time as host, the actress previously cameoed during Kanye West’s musical performance in September 2018.

Taylor will be joined by SNL first-time musical guest Geese, the indie rock band who surged in popularity last fall on the heels of their fourth album, Getting Killed. As it happens, James Austin Johnson debuted his impression of lead singer Cameron Winter on SNL’s most recent episode.

The show will close out January on a milestone, tapping Alexander Skarsgård to host its 1,000th episode on January 31. He will be joined by musical guest Cardi B, who has served as musical guest once before, in April 2018.

Despite the landmark episode, Skarsgård has no previous connection to SNL. His booking marks a different tack than the show took in October, when it recruited alum Amy Poehler to host the episode that landed on the 50th anniversary of the show’s premiere.

SNL kicks off its run of back-to-back-to-back January shows next Saturday, January 17.
