On Monday, the show released an additional seven minutes of unaired footage from Carpenter’s Day Drinking session last week. The add-on picks up with both host and guest already deep into the premise—and in no condition to reverse course.
The web-exclusive leans into what worked the first time around, with additional drinks, new games, and an even looser back-and-forth between Meyers and Carpenter as the afternoon wears on. Highlights include a string of increasingly cursed cocktails, a man-child photo-guessing game that turns into an excuse for friendly burns, and a segment designed to test just how far Carpenter’s famously suggestive lyricism can stretch.
Along the way, Carpenter reassures Meyers about his masculinity (“The most masculine thing you can do is lean into the femininity”), politely roasts his college-era haircut, and gamely attempts to turn everything from Wolf Blitzer’s Situation Room to board airplane announcements into innuendo—with mixed results.
