The first look at Seth Meyers’ new comedy special is here—along with a title and release date.
HBO has just released the trailer for Meyers’ new special, titled Seth Meyers: Dad Man Walking. As the name suggests, the show finds Meyers relaying stories about fatherhood, and the many ways his kids get on his nerves.
“I could never hate my kids, you guys. I could never hate my kids,” Meyers begins in the trailer. “With that said…” Meyers goes on to roast his kids’ dice-throwing skills, middle-of-the-night wake-ups, and obsession with lava.
HBO announced back in July that it would be the home of Meyers’ latest special. His first special, Lobby Baby, premiered on Netflix in 2019.
“Critics say it’s the special my kids will be talking about in therapy 20 years from now,” Meyers joked about the new hour.
The Late Night host taped this latest special over two performances in June at Chicago’s Vic Theatre. (Meyers was born in Evanston, Illinois, and later returned there to attend Northwestern University.)
Dad Man Walking would seem to be a fitting follow-up to Lobby Baby, which centered around Meyers’ second son being born in the lobby of his apartment building when he and his wife couldn’t make it to the hospital in time.
Dad Man Walking is executive produced by Meyers and Mike Shoemaker, who also serves as showrunner on Late Night. Comedian Neal Brennan directed.
The special will air Saturday October 26 at 10pm on HBO and will stream on Max.
