Seahawks Coach Mike Macdonald to Visit Jimmy Kimmel Live! After Super Bowl Win

Fresh off his Super Bowl win, the head coach of the Seattle Seahawks is bringing his championship glow to Jimmy Kimmel Live!

Jimmy Kimmel is set to welcome Mike Macdonald to the ABC late-night show Monday night.

The topic of conversation, of course, will be the Seahawks’ 29-13 win over the New England Patriots Sunday night. It marked the first Super Bowl win for Macdonald, who at age 38 is the youngest head coach in the NFL.

While it will be his first visit to Jimmy Kimmel Live! proper, Macdonald made a brief appearance with Guillermo Rodriguez when Kimmel’s sidekick recorded a remote at last week’s Super Bowl Opening Night event.

The coach’s booking was a last-minute addition to Kimmel’s Monday night show. Actor Stellan Skarsgård is also scheduled to sit down with Kimmel, after a previously scheduled appearance from recent Grammy winner Jelly Roll was scuttled over the weekend, for reasons that were not explained.

Though there’s often competition between late-night shows to see who can land Super Bowl champs in the days after their win, the odds were always in Kimmel’s favor this year.

Not only is his the only late-night show based on the West Coast (the game was played last night in Northern California), but the ABC host happens to have the 11:35 pm hour all to himself this week, with The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon preempted by NBC’s Winter Olympics coverage and Stephen Colbert’s Late Show airing repeats while staffers take a one-week break.
