JKL’s Guillermo Grills Players, Coaches at Super Bowl Kickoff Event

Ahead of Sunday’s Big Game, ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! dispatched Guillermo Rodriguez to the Super Bowl Opening Night event at the San Jose Convention Center, to lob questions at Patriots and Seahawks alike. (This explains why Kimmel’s sidekick was MIA from Monday’s show.)

First up was New England QB Drake Maye, to whom Guillermo declared, “Everybody in Boston says they’re Gay for Maye, but not me. I love the whole team. I’m Gaytriot for the Patriots!” (Maye seemed to appreciate the sentiment.)

Next, Guillermo tried to get Patriots linebacker Harold Landry III to part with a “sexy secret,” only to be met with a firm “no.” He was similarly unsuccessful inviting Patriots tight end Hunter Henry to take “a minute to get political.”

“Nawww, no politics, brother,” said the NFLer.

After nearly getting Seattle safety Julian Love to sip tequila from his hip flask, Guillermo asked Patriots receiver Stefon Diggs to name his favorite Cardi B song. “It’s ‘PAW backwards,'” Love delicately answered.

Guillermo then got a bit punchy, repeatedly commenting on Seattle head coach Mike MacDonald’s youthful looks, and asking: “What time is your mom picking you up?”

Next, there was some sort of exchange with Seahawks receiver Cooper Kupp over a jock strap with grass stains (?), after which the player asked himself Guillermo’s next question: “Is Robocop more man or machine?” Giving the query due consideration— and after confirming that Robocop had a human brain—Kupp asserted, “More man.”

Guillermo of course made the rounds trying to get anyone to say that “Matt Damon sucks!” Pats safety Richie Grant shrugged, “I don’t know who that is,” while head coach Mike Vrabel was taken aback by the question’s seemingly rude premise.

The Super Bowl Opening Night segment wound down with Guillermo in rabbit ears claiming to be halftime performer “Bad Bunny’s understudy in case he gets sick,” and dancing with Patriots linebacker Jahlani Tavai and safety Dell Pettus.

In closing, Guillermo told Seattle QB Sam Darnold that while some may be Gay for Maye, he is “ham for Sam.” To prove it, he gifted Darnold with a ham hat, which the Seahawk awkwardly donned.
