ABC’s summer guest-host rotation got off to a solid start the week of July 5, 2026, as Tiffany Haddish boosted Jimmy Kimmel Live! over the previous week’s all-rerun lineup, while CBS saw gains across Byron Allen’s two-hour late-night block—even though every program aired repeats.
According to Nielsen Live+3 ratings data, Jimmy Kimmel Live! averaged 1.83 million total viewers (+26 percent) and 228,000 adults 18–49 (+37 percent) across four Haddish-hosted originals and one repeat, comfortably leading the 11:35 p.m. field in both key measurements.
Haddish is the first of six guest hosts set to helm Jimmy Kimmel Live! this summer, with Kimmel expected to return after Labor Day.
On CBS, meanwhile, Allen Media Group’s two-hour block posted gains across the board. The first half-hour of Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen, which consisted entirely of repeats (compared to three first-run episodes the week prior), averaged 820,000 total viewers (+5 percent week over week) and 101,000 adults 18–49 (+13 percent), while each of the block’s remaining three half-hours posted even larger gains—as high as 20 percent in total viewers and 53 percent in the demo.
NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, airing a second consecutive week of repeats, averaged 1.17 million total viewers (–1 percent) and 146,000 adults 18–49 (+2 percent). Late Night with Seth Meyers, meanwhile, aired a third straight week of repeats, averaging 609,000 total viewers (–6 percent) and 68,000 adults 18–49 (–20 percent).
At 12:37 a.m., ABC’s Nightline averaged 925,000 total viewers (+5 percent) and 95,000 adults 18–49 (+13 percent) across five broadcasts.
On Fox, After Hours with James Corden averaged 720,000 total viewers (–20 percent) and 192,000 adults 18–49 (–41 percent) across six original episodes. The week’s two highest-rated telecasts followed FIFA Club World Cup coverage, with the Sunday, July 5 and Saturday, July 11 editions each topping one million viewers and drawing between 300,000 and 400,000 adults 18–49.
Switching to cable, Comedy Central’s The Daily Show returned from its Independence Day break with three original episodes, all hosted by Desi Lydic. The program averaged 861,000 total viewers and 147,000 adults 18–49. Week-to-week comparisons are unavailable after the show was dark the previous week.
Fox News’ Gutfeld! averaged 2.86 million total viewers (+3 percent) and 171,000 adults 18–49 (+6 percent) across five original episodes.
