Pop Culture Jeopardy! is getting a second season—and a new home. The pop culture twist on the classic quiz format will move from Prime Video to Netflix, with SNL‘s Colin Jost in talks to return as host.
Netflix and Sony Pictures Television announced the renewal Thursday, confirming that the spinoff of the long-running quiz franchise will stream exclusively on Netflix.
Combining Jeopardy!’s signature “answer-and-question” format with categories pulled from film, TV, music, and social media, Pop Culture Jeopardy! pits teams of contestants against each other in a tournament-style competition for a grand prize and pop culture bragging rights.
“Pop Culture Jeopardy! captivated an audience with its fun and energetic gameplay, building on the beloved franchise and offering fans an opportunity to test their zeitgeist knowledge,” said Suzanne Prete, president of game shows at Sony Pictures Television. “We couldn’t be more thrilled to be partnering with the exemplary team at Netflix to bring more episodes to our passionate and loyal viewers.”
Pop Culture Jeopardy! first premiered on Prime Video in December 2024 and wrapped its inaugural run in March 2025. Variety reports that Prime Video and Sony came to a mutual decision to move the show after Amazon shifted its approach to unscripted and game formats.
It’s not clear when the show’s second season will be produced and/or released. Jost, who taped the show’s 40-episode first season over ten days during the summer of 2024 has a full dance card at Saturday Night Live through the end of December, when the show takes its mid-season break.
The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television, with multiple Emmy Award winner Michael Davies serving as executive producer. Contestants interested in competing can apply at jeopardy.com/pop-culture.
