As the season-long celebration of its golden anniversary approaches, Saturday Night Live has dropped its first official “SNL50” merch.
The NBC Store has added an array of products to its Saturday Night Live collection, including a handful of items with what appears to be the show’s official branding for its 50th anniversary. Emblazoned with the iconic “Live from New York, It’s Saturday Night!” phrase against a rendering of the New York City skyline, the items each include some variation of a gold-and-white “Saturday Night Live 50” or “SNL 50” logo.
Currently up for sale are a T-shirt, crewneck, stainless steel tumbler, can glass, and a sherpa blanket that features an illustration of classic characters from over the years. A subway tile-inspired poster of that art is also available.
The “SNL50” branding matches that seen on NBC.com’s SNL page lately and shared by Kevin Nealon earlier this summer. It also appears on the boxes of the show’s newly announced Funko Pop! figures, which are currently available for preorder. (Other new items on the NBC Store site continue to feature the SNL font seen in previous years, suggesting that the new branding might not carry over into the show all season long.)
The SNL50 festivities will include a live “homecoming night” show at Radio City Music Hall on Friday, February 14, featuring music and stand-up from artists who have graced the halls of Studio 8H since the show premiered in 1975. On Sunday, February 16, a three-hour SNL50 Primetime Special will “welcome stars of past and present to 8H,” complete with a red carpet.
Saturday Night Live’s 50th season premieres on September 28.
