John Mulaney is set to welcome three comics and a new musical super-duo to this week’s episode Everybody’s Live.
Saturday Night Live alum Molly Shannon, comedian Marc Maron, and The Daily Show’s Ronny Chieng will all be joining Mulaney on his show’s big couch this Wednesday night, April 30th.
Chieng is a returning guest for Mulaney. Last year, he appeared on Everybody’s Live’s earlier iteration, Everybody’s in LA, for an episode that tackled the paranormal. The TDS correspondent has himself partnered with Netflix for three standup specials (Asian Comedian Destroys America!, Speakeasy, and Love to Hate It).
Maron is also a familiar face for Netflix, having produced three comedy hours of his own for the streamer (Thinky Pain, Too Real, End Times Fun). The comic is also the subject of a new documentary, Are We Good?, that finds him grappling with the loss of his partner, Lynn Shelton.
Shannon, too, has an upcoming project with Netflix, appearing in the streamer’s upcoming film People We Meet on Vacation, due out sometime this year.
Like many past episodes, the panel will be joined by an expert. Though the episode’s topic has yet to be revealed, Mulaney will be welcoming anesthesiologist Dr. Emily Methangkool. Methangkool is the Chair of the Department of Anesthesiology at Los Angeles’ Olive View-UCLA Medical Center.
The show will also be teaming up two musicians for what appears to be the first time: Maggie Rogers and John Cale. While they’ve not collaborated on any releases, both Rogers and Cale dropped new solo records last year.
Mulaney did not share what Rogers and Cale will be performing, but perhaps a hint can be found in a Spotify playlist he shared of the two artists’ work. He did the same when welcoming Randy Newman two weeks ago, kicking off that playlist with the two songs that Newman ultimately performed on Everybody’s Live. Mulaney’s Rogers/Cale playlist begins with Cale’s “Paris 1919” and Rogers’ “Alaska.”
Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney streams live on Netflix Wednesdays at 10 PM ET/7 PM PT.
