Mikey Day Brings SNLers to New Is It Cake? Holiday Episodes

New episodes of Mikey Day‘s Is It Cake? are headed to Netflix this holiday season, and once again the SNL star is bringing along a few of his friends.

Arriving November 28, the show’s new four-episode mini-season will bring back nine all-star bakers from the show’s first three seasons for a holiday showdown.

This time around, the returning bakers will be tasked with sculpting their cakes into replicas of holiday/winter themed items like wreaths, nutcrackers, and ice skates.

Guest judges for the show’s holiday edition are set to include some familiar faces for fans of Day’s work on Saturday Night Live. Devon Walker, James Austin Johnson, Punkie Johnson and Sasheer Zamata will all be putting their cake discerning skills to the test.

They’re not the first SNL stars to guest on Day’s baking competition series. Past seasons have seen Heidi Gardner, Ego Nwodim, Bobby Moynihan, Chloe Fineman, Chris Redd, Jay Pharoah, Beck Bennett, Taran Killam, Ego Nwodim, and Chris Kattan.

Other guest judges set to join in on the festive fun this season include Rachel Bloom, Wayne Brady, Sebastian Maniscalco, Hannah Berner, Tiffany Haddish, Chris Witaske, Terry Crews, and Randall Park.

Is it Cake? premiered its first season in March of 2018. Day, an 11-year veteran of Saturday Night Live credits the Netflix series with expanding his fan base to younger kids, who he says absolutely freak out when they recognize him from the Netflix series.

” I wasn’t aware that it would connect with kids so much,” Day remarked in an interview with the Kreative Kontrol podcast earlier this year. “And I’m not sure exactly why. Maybe there’s an element of deception and trickery that’s fun. It’s almost kind of like watching magicians prepare a trick or something, and there’s a lot of imagination involved, and the structure of the show is very fun too.”

The four-episode Is it Cake? Holiday premieres Nov 28 on Netflix.
