Although his character in Saturday Night Live’s “Bungee” sketch last weekend was underwhelmed with Timothée Chalamet’s fitness instructor, Michael Longfellow says performing the sketch ended up being quite the workout.
The sketch saw Longfellow’s character join his girlfriend (played by Heidi Gardner) in her bungee fitness class, where her instructor “Nathanial Natrine, the Bungee Queen” (Chalamet) leads the class in a less-than-challenging dangling routine before celebrating a participant’s birthday by sharing a calorie-rich “Cinnabon New Frosted Mega Cinna Cake” with the group.
“Is this supposed to be hard?” asks Longfellow’s character at one point.
Apparently it was hard (or at the very least nauseating), as Longfellow revealed when he posted a clip from the sketch to Instagram Wednesday.
“After this sketch ended, I vomited from exhaustion into a recycling bin as this was actually a very intense workout for me,” he wrote.
Per our weekly SNL screen time report, Longfellow set a personal single-episode record this weekend with appearances in “Bungee,” “Oedipal Arrangements,” and the “Founding Fathers” cold open.
Bungee was co-written by Jimmy Fowlie, Ceara O’Sullivan, Martin Herlihy, John Higgins, and Ben Marshall.
As we’ve reported, this weekend’s Saturday Night Live saw the show draw its largest audience in two months.
SNL is now on a month-long hiatus as the show’s producers prepare for its landmark three-hour primetime anniversary special on February 16. The next new episode of Saturday Night Live proper is scheduled for March 1, 2025.
