Late Show Charity Auction Adds More Memorabilia After Raising $170K

You can never have too much of a good thing—especially a successful auction that benefits charity.

Stephen Colbert on Wednesday night updated viewers on the charity auction of Late Show props, wardrobe items, and other memorabilia, he announced in mid-December alongside guest Paul Rudd

The “Late Show Home Shopping: Canceled Clearance Sale!: Bye Bye Buy!” is pegged to Colbert’s show going off the air in May.

As LateNighter previously reported (though the tally has since been adjusted down a smidgen), the Late Show auction raised $169,727.99. Colbert during a Wednesday night desk segment marveled at bidders’ largesse, then triumphantly announced he was going to personally match!… the $27.99 part.

Yeah, he got us, too. But seriously….

Colbert went on to say that “because of the incredible response” to the initial items put up for bid, The Late Show is auctioning off a new batch of memorabilia, including:

  • Several Armani and Zegna suits that Colbert has worn on the show, signed
  • The shimmery jacket Colbert wore as “Hungry for Power Games” host Julius Flickerman in an on-air sketch
  • The outfit Colbert wore as Chicagoan Donny Franks, a hot dog slinger at the Democratic National Convention, in an August 2024 sketch—”including fanny pack and goatee!”
  • “And if you’re a true fashion hound, we’re even selling the Corn Man suit that has been worn many times on the show,” he added, including once by Oscar-nominated actor Michael Shannon. “Is this the role that got him the Oscar nomination? No. Is it the one that cost him the Oscar? Quite possibly!”

To date, nine neckties that The Late Show had individually listed generated a total of $28,253.02 in bids. Colbert’s desk from the pandemic-era A Late Show sold for $14,800. And two VIP tickets to this May’s finale of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert fetched a staggering $111,100. (Travel and accommodations were not included.)

One-hundred percent of The Late Show’s proceeds from the auction will go to World Central Kitchen.

All available memorabilia pieces, previous and new, are available to be bid on at ColbertLateShow.com/EBay.
