The Fourth of July may be in the rearview, but late night’s summer slowdown continues for another week, with a skeleton crew holding down the time period.
Here’s who’s on the week of July 6, who’s off, and who’s operating under summer rules:
Jimmy Kimmel Live!
On, minus Jimmy. Jimmy Kimmel is already two weeks into his annual summer vacation, but Jimmy Kimmel Live! is back in originals, with Tiffany Haddish becoming the show’s first guest host of the summer. Haddish’s week kicks off Monday with Octavia Spencer, Jack Whitehall, and musical guest Elmiene, followed Tuesday by Allison Janney and Auli’i Cravalho, Wednesday by Lil Rel Howery and Shameik Moore, and Thursday by Liza Colón-Zayas.
The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon
Gone. Jimmy Fallon and company are in the second week of a two-week break, with The Tonight Show is airing encore episodes featuring Tracee Ellis Ross, Milly Alcock, Ryan Hamilton, John Cena, Olivia Cooke, John Lithgow, Regina Hall, Mick Jagger, Brendan Fraser, and Kate Mara. Fallon is scheduled to return with new episodes July 13.
Comics Unleashed
Gone. After several weeks in which the first half-hour of CBS’ Comics Unleashed block was first-run, both half-hours are in repeats this week. As always, the show’s deliberately evergreen format makes that distinction a little blurrier than it is for most late-night series.
Funny You Should Ask
Gone. The second hour of Byron Allen’s CBS late-night block also remains in repeats, with Funny You Should Ask continuing to air episodes that have previously run in syndication.
Late Night with Seth Meyers
Gone. Seth Meyers is still on break, with Late Night airing its third straight week of repeats. The show is set to return with new episodes next week.
Nightline
On. ABC’s late-night newsmagazine is scheduled to continue airing new episodes this week.
The Daily Show
On, but starting late. After last week’s holiday-adjacent break, Comedy Central’s flagship late-night series is back—but not quite for a full week. The Daily Show is taking Monday off before returning with new episodes Tuesday through Thursday. No word yet on who will be hosting those episodes.
Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen
On. Andy Cohen’s Bravo clubhouse is back this week, with Watch What Happens Live slated to air originals featuring guests including Aesha Scott, Cole McBee, Stephanie Ruhle, Georgina Ferzli, Jesse Lally, Lacy Nicole, Georgia McCann, Vicki Gunvalson, and SNL‘s Sarah Sherman.
Gutfeld!
On. No rest for Gutfeld!. As with most cable news shows, Greg Gutfeld’s Fox News program typically keeps moving through the summer with new episodes and, when needed, guest hosts.
FIFA World Cup on FOX After Hours with James Corden
On. James Corden’s World Cup-themed late-night pop-up enters its penultimate week with five new episodes on deck: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. The limited-run FOX series is scheduled to wrap July 19.
Real Time with Bill Maher
Gone. Bill Maher is now on his summer break, with Real Time off this week. HBO currently has the series slated to return with a new episode July 31.
Last Week Tonight with John Oliver
Gone. John Oliver is also off this week, as Last Week Tonight begins its summer break. The HBO weekly series is scheduled to return with new episodes July 26.
Saturday Night Live
Gone. No change here: Saturday Night Live remains on summer hiatus after closing out Season 51 in May. The show is expected to kick off Season 52 on September 26, 2026.
