Late Night Ratings: Week of April 29, 2024

Note: LateNighter generally posts late night weekly live-plus-three ratings on a three (business) day delay, which is how they are released by Nielsen.

NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert averaged the same number of Adults 18-49, while Colbert’s Late Show averaged the most total viewers for the week of April 29, 2024.

Per Nielsen live-plus-three-day data, The Tonight Show averaged 1,399,000 total viewers and 238,000 P18-49 viewers last week. Compared with the week before (the week of April 22), the program gained +25% in total viewers and +38% in P18-49 viewers. The Tonight Show aired new episodes on all five days last week. The show was dark, and aired exclusively repeats the week before.

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert averaged a late night-high 2,281,000 total viewers with 238,000 P18-49 viewers last week. Relative to the week before, Colbert’s Late Show gained +59% in total viewers and +38% in P18-49 viewers. The Late Show aired four new episodes this past week (Monday through Thursday) and a repeat on Friday. The show was dark and aired exclusively repeats the week prior.

ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!  averaged 1,648,000 total viewers and 185,000 P18-49 viewers for the week starting April 29, 2024, per Nielsen live-plus-three data. Compared with the week before (a dark week for its timeslot competition), the program shed -4% in total viewers and -12% in P18-49 viewers. Jimmy Kimmel Live! aired four new episodes this past week (Monday through Thursday) and a repeat on Friday. The program aired three new episodes and two repeats the week prior.

Hitting fast-forward, NBC’s Late Night with Seth Meyers averaged 970,000 total viewers and 170,000 P18-49 viewers this past week, per Nielsen live-plus-three data. That’s +56% and +63%, respectively, from the week prior. Late Night aired new episodes Monday through Thursday, and a repeat on Friday this past week. The program was dark the week before, and aired exclusively repeats.

Changing channels, ABC’s half-hour news offering Nightline averaged 868,000 total viewers and 123,000 P18-49 viewers at 12:37 a.m. this past week, per Nielsen live-plus-three data. That’s -2% and -9%, respectively, from the week prior. Nightline aired new episodes Monday through Friday this past week, and did the same the week prior.

CBS’ After Midnight was dark and aired exclusively repeats this past week. The Monday-Friday repeats averaged 615,000 total viewers and 107,000 P18-49 viewers at 12:37 a.m.. Compared to the week prior (featuring four days of new episodes), After Midnight shed -6% in total viewers and -20% in P18-49 viewers.

Comedy Central’s The Daily Show was dark and did not air during the week of April 29, 2024.
