Late Night Ratings: Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2024

Note: LateNighter generally posts late night ratings on a two (business) day delay, which is how they are released by Nielsen.

The Feb. 20, 2024 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, which featured the host addressing the lawsuit George Santos recently filed against him, averaged 1,647,000 total viewers and 139,000 P18-49 viewers, per Nielsen live plus same day data. As expected, that’s growth from the Monday repeat. It’s also +29% in total viewers, but -25% in P18-49 viewers from the Tuesday before (Feb. 13).

The Feb. 20 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! included appearances from Paul Giamatti, Jenny Slate, and a musical performance from Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real.

JKL averaged the most total viewers in its timeslot slot on Tuesday, but averaged fewer P18-49 despite its CBS and NBC competition airing repeats all week.

The Late Show presented its Feb. 1 episode and The Tonight Show presented its Feb. 5 episode on Tuesday at 11:35 p.m. The Tuesday Late Show repeat averaged 1,529,000 total viewers and 201,000 P18-49 viewers, up +10% and +3%, respectively, from the night before (also a repeat). Tuesday’s Tonight Show repeat averaged 884,000 total viewers and 165,000 P18-49 viewers, -13% and +11%, respectively, from the previous night’s repeat. Both shows aired new episodes the previous Tuesday.

At 12:37 a.m., Nightline, similar to Jimmy Kimmel Live!, averaged the most total viewers in its timeslot, 841,000, but it averaged the third-most P18-49 viewers, 75,000. Repeats of After Midnight averaged 563,000 total viewers and 95,000 P18-49 viewers, while Late Night with Seth Meyers averaged 595,000 total viewers and 133,000 P18-49 viewers on Tuesday, Feb. 20.

Nightline gained +23% in total viewers and +1% in P18-49 viewers from the night before and +8% in total viewers, but shed -28% in P18-49 viewers from the previous Tuesday. After Midnight shed -3% in total viewers and -19% in P18-49 viewers from the night before, while Late Night shed -3% in total viewers but gained +41% in P18-49 viewers from the night before. Both After Midnight and Late Night aired new episodes last Tuesday.

Comedy Central presented a new episode of The Daily Show on Tuesday, Feb. 20, with correspondent Desi Lydic assuming host duties. The Tuesday broadcast averaged 457,000 total viewers and 102,000 P18-49 viewers. That’s -11% in total viewers and -22% in P18-49 viewers from the previous Tuesday broadcast, hosted by Jordan Klepper.
