Late Night Ratings: Friday, November 1, 2024

Note: LateNighter’s late night daily ratings reports are drawn from Nielsen live-plus-same-day data and do not take include delayed and/or streaming views. They are generally posted on a two (business) day delay, which is how they are released by Nielsen.

On another repeat-filled Friday for late-night, CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert claimed victory in multiple key measurements yet again. On Friday, November 1, The Late Show marked its fifth consecutive night as the most-watched program at 11:35 p.m., and its fourth consecutive night at No. 1 in the timeslot in both total viewers and P18-49.

CBS re-aired The Late Show‘s Oct. 22, 2024 episode this past Friday, and the 11:35 p.m. telecast averaged 1,571,000 total viewers with 216,000 P18-49, per Nielsen live plus same day data. That’s down -28% in total viewers, and -4% among P18-49 from the night before (a new episode), but up +8% and +25%, respectively, from the week-ago telecast (a repeat of the Colbert-Kamala Harris episode). Sen. John Fetterman and Alfonso Cuarón were Colbert’s guests on that Oct. 22 episode.

NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! split second place once again at 11:35 p.m.

NBC re-aired The Tonight Show‘s Oct. 23 2024 episode this past Friday, and the 11:35 p.m. telecast averaged 1,113,000 total viewers with 173,000 P18-49. Despite being a repeat, The Tonight Show gained +7% in total viewers and +9% among P18-49 from the night before (a new episode). The telecast also gained +0.3% in total viewers, but shed -12% in P18-49 from the week-ago telecast (another repeat). The Oct. 23 Tonight Show featured guests Megan Thee Stallion, and Billy Crystal. Julian Casablancas was the musical guest.

At the same time, ABC re-aired the Oct. 29 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! this past Friday, and the 11:35 p.m. telecast averaged 1,381,000 total viewers with 158,000 P18-49. That’s down -11% in total viewers but up +3% among P18-49 from the night before (a new episode), but up +23% and flat, respectively, from the week-ago telecast (also a repeat). JKL‘s Oct. 29 episode featured guests Hugh Grant, Aldis Hodge, and musical guest Dawes.

Following The Late Show  repeat, CBS re-aired After Midnight‘s Oct. 3, 2024 episode (featuring guests Matt Rogers, Brendan Scannell, and Greta Titelman), and the 12:37 a.m. telecast averaged 691,000 total viewers with a timeslot-high 155,000 P18-49. Despite it being a repeat, the telecast gained +2% in total viewers and a whopping +60% among P18-49 from the night before (a new episode), and gained +20% and +25%, respectively, from the week-ago telecast (a repeat).

Elsewhere, NBC re-aired Late Night with Seth Meyers Oct. 21 episode, and the telecast averaged 664,000 total viewers with 155,000 P18-49 at 12:37 a.m. That’s down -23% in total viewers and -12% among P18-49 from the night before (a new episode), down -6% and -23%, respectively, from the week-ago telecast (a repeat). Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Juno Temple were Meyers’ guests on that Oct. 21 episode.

Lastly, following Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Nightline averaged 751,000 total viewers with 101,000 P18-49 at 12:37 a.m. That’s down -7% in total viewers, but up +44% in P18-49 from the night before; up +1% but down -20%, respectively, from the week-ago Nightline episode.
