ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! wrapped up the week beginning May 27 with another dominant ratings win.
The Friday, May 31, 2024 installment of Kimmel hauled in 2,008,000 total viewers with 254,000 P18-49, per Nielsen live-plus-same-day data. That’s -2% in total viewers from the previous night’s episode (which delivered the show’s largest audience in more than six months), but an impressive +30% in P18-49 viewers. The episode gained +60% in total viewers and +6% in P18-49 viewers from the show’s most-recent Thursday telecast (a rebroadcast).
Maya Rudolph, and Jacob Batalon were Kimmel’s guests this past Friday. Crowded House performed on the program.
CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon were both rebroadcasts on Friday, May 31, and split second place in the 11:35 p.m. timeslot.
The Late Show‘s rebroadcast (its May 13, 2024 episode) averaged 1,247,000 total viewers with 184,000 P18-49 viewers on CBS this past Friday at 11:35 p.m. That’s +3% and +2%, respectively, from the day before (a rebroadcast), flat in total viewers and +2% in P18-49 viewers relative to the previous Friday’s telecast (also a rebroadcast).
The Tonight Show‘s rebroadcast (its April 5, 2024 episode) averaged 1,152,000 total viewers with 186,000 P18-49 viewers on Friday at 11:35 p.m. That’s +3% and +8%, respectively, versus the day before (a rebroadcast), but -6% and -10%, respectively, from the previous Friday telecast (also a rebroadcast).
Following The Tonight Show, NBC aired a rebroadcast of Late Night with Seth Meyers‘ May 9, 2024 episode, and the telecast averaged 683,000 total viewers with 143,000 P18-49 viewers at 12:36 a.m. That’s +2% in total viewers, and +20% in P18-49 viewers from the day before (a rebroadcast), -9% and -5%, respectively, from the previous Friday telecast (also a rebroadcast).
Following Colbert’s Late Show, CBS aired a rebroadcast of After Midnight‘s March 25, 2024 episode, and it averaged 527,000 total viewers with 120,000 P18-49 viewers at 12:37 a.m. That’s -8% in total viewers, but flat in demo viewers versus the day before (a rebroadcast), +16% in total viewers and +18% in demo viewers from the previous Friday’s telecast (also a rebroadcast).
Following Kimmel, ABC aired a new episode of Nightline, which averaged 953,000 total viewers with 139,000 P18-49 viewers. That represents a -4% in total viewers, but an +18% improvement in P18-49 viewers relative to the previous night’s episode (new). ABC did not submit viewing data to Nielsen for the previous Friday’s Nightline (May 24).
