Late-night went dark on the eve of Memorial Day Weekend – Friday, May 24, 2024.
ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! aired a rebroadcast of its May 20, 2024 episode on Friday, and the telecast averaged 1,253,000 total viewers with 240,000 P18-49 viewers. That’s a strong delivery for a rebroadcast, and more than its NBC and CBS programming counterparts in both measurements.
Jimmy Kimmel Live! gained +8% and +88%, respectively, from the night before (Thursday, May 23). The program was dark the week prior and did not submit Nielsen data for its week-ago broadcast (May 17). Relative to the show’s most recent Friday telecast (a rebroadcast of its April 30 episode on May 10), however, JKL gained +9% in total viewers and +56% in P18-49 demo viewers.
NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon aired a rebroadcast of its March 27, 2024 episode this past Friday, and it averaged 1,226,000 total viewers with 207,000 P18-49 viewers in the timeslot, per Nielsen live-plus-same-day data. That’s +0.3% and +38%, respectively, from the day before; -15% and -8%, respectively, from the previous Friday episode (May 17), which was a new one.
CBS televised a rebroadcast of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert‘s May 7, 2024 episode this past Friday at 11:35 p.m., and the telecast averaged 1,247,000 total viewers with 181,000 P18-49 viewers. That’s -37% in total viewers and -18% in P18-49 viewers from the previous day’s episode (a new one); -10% but +17%, respectively, from the previous Friday telecast (a repeat).
CBS televised a rebroadcast of After Midnight‘s March 26, 2024 episode this past Friday, and the telecast averaged 456,000 total viewers with 102,000 P18-49 in the 12:35 a.m. timeslot. That’s -25% in total viewers but +4% in P18-49 viewers from the day before (a new episode); -16% in total viewers but +19% in P18-49 viewers from the previous Friday (also a repeat).
NBC televised a rebroadcast of Late Night with Seth Meyers‘ April 4, 2024 episode this past Friday, and the 12:36 a.m. telecast averaged 748,000 total viewers with 136,000 P18-49 viewers. That’s +29% in total viewers and +66% in P18-49 viewers from the day before (a new episode); -5% in total viewers and -21% in P18-49 viewers from the previous Friday’s telecast (a repeat).
