Late Night Ratings: Friday, March 8, 2024

CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon split first place in late-night on Friday, March 8, 2024.

The Tonight Show aired a new episode on March 8, which averaged 1,453,000 total viewers and a late-night-high 289,000 P18-49 viewers. That’s -2% but a solid +22%, respectively, from the prior Friday broadcast (March 1, 2024),

Naomi Campbell, Sue Bird, and Kneecap were Fallon’s guests on Friday, March 8.

The Late Show aired a repeat of the Feb. 14, 2024 episode, featuring Mark Wahlberg, and Lily Gladstone, on March 8. The repeat averaged 1,510,000 total viewers and 183,000 P18-49 viewers at 11:35 p.m. That’s -1% in total viewers and -7% in P18-49 viewers versus the previous Friday, when the show aired a repeat of its Feb. 13 episode.

ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! was dark last week as the host prepared to host the Academy Awards on Sunday, and the network did not submit Jimmy Kimmel Live! viewer data to Nielsen for Friday, March 8. ABC instead aired a repeat of the show’s Feb. 22, 2024 episode, which featured Oppenheimer stars Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, Robert Downey Jr., Rory Scovel.

Hitting fast-forward to 12:35 timeslot, NBC’s Late Night with Seth Meyers and ABC News’ Nightline split first place this past Friday, March 8.

Late Night aired a repeat of its Feb. 28, 2024 episode this past Friday, and it featured Austin Butler, Jenny Slate, Two Door Cinema Club, and Fred Armisen. The Feb. 28 repeat airing averaged 786,000 total viewers and 187,000 P18-49 viewers, per live-plus-same-day data from Friday. That represents a -4% decline in total viewers, and -11% in P18-49 viewers from the previous Friday, when the show aired a repeat of its Jan. 23 episode.

ABC’s news half-hour news offering Nightline took first place in total viewers but third in P18-49 viewers behind NBC and CBS. The Friday, March 8, 2024 edition of Nightline averaged 824,000 total viewers and 88,000 P18-49 viewers, up +9% but -20%, respectively, from the Friday before.

CBS’ After Midnight aired a repeat of its Feb. 12, 2024 episode this past Friday featuring Riki Lindhome, Rob Huebel, and Vinny Thomas. The airing averaged 584,000 total viewers and 100,000 P18-49 from the P18-49 demo, per Nielsen live-plus-same-day data. That’s -11% in total viewers and -11% in P18-49 viewers from the Friday before, a repeat of the show’s Feb. 8 episode.
