Late Night Ratings: Friday, March 1, 2024

Note: LateNighter generally posts late night ratings on a two (business) day delay, which is how they are released by Nielsen.

Despite airing a repeat, CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert assumed its usual position as the most-watched show in the late night daypart this past Friday.

The Late Show aired a repeat of the show’s Feb. 13, 2024 episode this past Friday, and it averaged 1,522,000 total viewers. That’s -24% from the night before (an original episode), but +28% from the prior Friday, which was also a repeat (Jan. 25, 2024 episode). CBS’ 11:35 p.m. repeat offering averaged 196,000 P18-49 viewers this past Friday, down -26% from the night before, but +53% from a week-ago.

NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon was the only 11:35 p.m. program to air an original episode, and averaged the most P18-49 viewers on all of late night. The Tonight Show averaged 237,000 P18-49 viewers and 1,476,000 total viewers, -2% but +12%, respectively, from the previous night’s episode, as well as +14% and +24%, respectively, from the previous Friday’s episode, which was a repeat of its Jan. 26, 2024 installment.

ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! aired a repeat of its Feb. 21, 2024 episode this past Friday, finishing behind CBS and NBC both in total viewers (1,204,000) and in P18-49 viewers (159,000). The episode’s 1,204,000 total viewer average is -17% from the night before (an original), as well as -24% from the prior Friday, which featured an original episode. JKL averaged 159,000 P18-49 viewers this past Friday, -4% from the night before and -27% from the previous Friday’s original.

Hitting fast-forward, at 12:37 a.m., a new episode of ABC News’ Nightline averaged 754,000 total viewers and 110,000 P18-49 viewers. That’s -7% but +21%, respectively, from the previous night’s installment, -9% and -1%, respectively, from the week-ago installment; both of which were originals.

NBC’s Late Night with Seth Meyers won the 12:37 a.m. slot this past Friday with a repeat of its Jan. 23, 2024 episode. It averaged 822,000 total viewers and 148,000 P18-49 viewers. The 822,000 total and 148,000 P18-49 are +4% and +2%, respectively, from the previous night’s episode, up +10% but -3%, respectively, from the previous Friday, when the show aired a repeat of its Jan. 7, 2024 episode.

CBS’ After Midnight aired a repeat of its Feb. 8, 2024 episode this past Friday. The Friday repeat drew 659,000 total viewers and 112,000 P18-49 viewers at 12:37 a.m. That’s up +7% but -10%, respectively, from the previous night’s original episode, +27% and a solid +62%, respectively, from the previous Friday (Feb. 7, 2024 repeat).
