Late Night Ratings: Friday, June 21, 2024

It was a repeat-filled Friday on late-night, and NBC took hold of first place in the ratings.

NBC presented a rebroadcast of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon ‘s June 6, 2024 episode this past Friday, June 21, and the telecast averaged the most total viewers (1,405,000) and P18-49 (213,000) in the 11:35 p.m. timeslot. Friday’s telecast saw a +16% gain in total viewers and -8% decline among P18-49 from the day before (a new episode). There was a +12% improvement in total viewers and -1% decline in P18-49 relative to the previous Friday’s Tonight Show telecast (a rebroadcast).

CBS presented a rebroadcast of Late Show with Stephen Colbert‘s June 5, 2024 episode this past Friday at 11:35 p.m. The telecast averaged 1,366,000 total viewers with 154,000 P18-49, per Nielsen live-plus-same-day data. The telecast shed -20% in total viewers and -20% among P18-49 from the day before (new episode). There was a +17% gain in total viewers and a +9% gain in P18-49 relative to the Friday before (a rebroadcast).

The May 21, 2024 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! aired this past Friday at 11:38 p.m., and it averaged 1,111,000 total viewers with 154,000 P18-49, per Nielsen live-plus-same-day data. The telecast shed -27% in total viewers but gained +% in P18-49 viewers from the day before (a new episode). However, the was a -48% decline in total viewers and -70% decline in P18-49 from the previous Friday’s Kimmel — a new episode which benefited greatly from an NBA Finals Game 4 broadcast lead-in.

Following The Tonight Show, NBC aired a rebroadcast of Late Night with Seth Meyers‘ June 12, 2024 episode, which averaged a timeslot-high 791,000 total viewers with 137,000 P18-49. Late Night gained +3% in total viewers, but shed -12% in P18-49 viewers from the day before (a new episode). There was +10% growth in total viewers, but a -1% decline in P18-49 from the previous Friday’s Late Night (a rebroadcast).

Following Colbert’s Late Show, CBS aired a rebroadcast of After Midnight‘s April 18, 2024 episode, which went on to average 573,000 total viewers with 98,000 P18-49 viewers at 12:37 a.m. After Midnight gained +6% in total viewers, but shed -12% in P18-49 viewers from the previous day’s new episode. There was 8% growth in total viewers and +15% growth in P18-49 viewers from the previous Friday’s After Midnight (a rebroadcast).

Following Kimmel, ABC aired a new episode of Nightline, which averaged 720,000 total viewers with 88,000 P18-49 viewers. Nightline gained +2% in total viewers and +9% in P18-49 from Thursday’s new episode. However, there was a -37% decline in total viewers and a -70% decline in P18-49 viewers from the previous Friday’s Nightline — an episode which benefited from an NBA Finals Game 4 halo effect.
