Jon Stewart Updates Popcorn-Eating Meme for Trump-Musk Feud in Surprise Jimmy Kimmel Appearance

Jimmy Kimmel had a surprise drop-in from a fellow late-night host yesterday, updating a decade-old GIF in the process.

After making a cameo in one of Jimmy Kimmel Live!’s Hollywood Boulevard games, The Daily Show’s Jon Stewart upped the ante by crashing Kimmel’s studio.

Stewart’s appearance came during a new edition of Kimmel’s game “Who’s High?,” in which the host and his audience attempt to guess which of three civilians plucked from Hollywood Boulevard are high. During the second round of contestants, Kimmel shifted his focus to a man seen stumbling around amidst in the background, dancing on the boulevard and blocking vehicles. Kimmel asked the “Who’s High?” contestants to call the bandana-masked man over, prompting Stewart’s slow reveal.

“I heard if you were high, you could win prizes,” the Daily Show host explained. In keeping with the stoner theme, Stewart was gifted a bag of Funyuns for his efforts.

“I thought this was network,” he said in reaction to the low-cost prize.

Stewart stayed to make his best guess in the “Who’s High?” game—but not before being subjected to a bus full of celebrity tourists that happened to pass by.

“I don’t like this town,” Stewart deadpanned.

But that wasn’t it for Stewart. After the break, he returned to interrupt Kimmel’s introduction of first guest Seth MacFarlane. Entering the studio with one of the previous segment’s contestants in tow, Stewart force-fed Kimmel Funyuns before coming up with another idea.

“We need to make another GIF for watching Trump and Musk fight,” said Stewart, shoveling Funyuns into his own mouth in a manner that evoked his timeless Daily Show popcorn-eating meme. (Stewart last recreated the GIF in an ad teasing his return to The Daily Show last year.)

Stewart exited after that, but not before leaving a gift for MacFarlane, albeit an unintentional one: a Funyun in his mug of water.

Stewart previously appeared on JKL last year in a pre-taped segment, surprising Kimmel’s kids on the drive to school with an anti-climactic carpool.

I do have to wonder if the bloke from Leeds knew who Jon Stewart was, or if the people on the tour bus recognized him with that hat on. 😉
