Jon Stewart Returns to The Daily Show Desk Tonight; Desi Lydic Hosts Tuesday–Thursday

The Daily Show returns with a fresh week of episodes starting tonight on Comedy Central, with Jon Stewart back in the anchor chair.

Stewart’s guest Monday night is Peter Beinart, editor-at-large of Jewish Currents, author of The Beinart Notebook on Substack, and professor at CUNY’s Newmark School of Journalism. Beinart will discuss his new book, Being Jewish After the Destruction of Gaza.

Beginning Tuesday, Daily Show senior correspondent Desi Lydic takes over hosting duties through Thursday.

On Tuesday, Lydic welcomes actor, comedian, and author Jenny Slate. Slate recently earned an Emmy nomination for her role in the FX limited series Dying for Sex.

Wednesday’s show features actors Alison Brie and Dave Franco, who are promoting their latest collaboration, the film Together.

The week wraps Thursday with Tony Hale, the Emmy-winning actor and producer, who will appear to discuss his new film Sketch.

This will mark Desi Lydic’s seventh week-long run behind the desk this season. (She last hosted in mid-June). Lydic currently leads her fellow rotating correspondent-hosts in terms of weeks spent hosting the show. Jordan Klepper is close behind, having hosted six weeks, Ronny Chieng has hosted five times, while Michael Kosta has hosted four, and Josh Johnson has hosted 1.
