Viewers hoping for a Jon Stewart – Elon Musk showdown tonight on The Daily Show will have to wait.
In a social media post last week, Musk said he’d guest with Jon Stewart if the interview aired unedited, and the show quickly agreed. There’s been no word from either party since on whether they’ve been in direct contact, but Stewart will have a chance to weigh in when he returns for his regular Monday night hosting gig tonight.
Stewart’s scheduled guest tonight is Princeton University sociologist Matthew Desmond, author of the book “Poverty, by America,” which looks at the scourge of poverty in the richest democracy on earth.
Senior Daily Show correspondent Michael Kosta will then take the desk Tuesday through Thursday.
Kosta’s guest Tuesday will be comedian Mae Martin, whose new creative endeavor, an indie rock album titled “I’m a TV,” arrived in record stores last week.
On Wednesday Kosta will welcome country music duo Julien Baker & TORRES for both an interview and a performance. Thursday will see Kosta sit down with culinary expert and Queer Eye star Antoni Porowski, whose new Nat Geo series No Taste Like Home premiered last week and is available for streaming in Hulu.
The Daily Show airs weeknights at 11 p.m, ET/PT on Comedy Central, and is available to stream next day on Paramount+

It would be a joke if they gave that TDS chair, full time, to Michael Kostas, easily the worst correspondent they ever had! But, I guess in the era of Drumpf, mediocre whir=te boys need love too, I guess!
