John Mulaney’s Everybody’s Live to Tackle REAL ID with Andy Samberg

John Mulaney is rounding up a gaggle of comic actors to help make sure Netflix subscribers are complying with federal law.

This week’s Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney will find the host joined by fellow comedians Andy Samberg, Robby Hoffman, and Ramy Youssef as they break down what viewers need to know about REAL ID.

Samberg previously appeared on Everybody’s in LA as regular NBA courtside attendee Jimmy Goldstein, but this will be his first formal interview appearance on Mulaney’s Netflix talk show.

Mulaney and Samberg, of course, were longtime colleagues at Saturday Night Live. The pair also collaborated on the 2022 film Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers and once guest-hosted an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! together.

Also joining will be comedian and former Chris Gethard Show writer Robby Hoffman, who previously appeared on Netflix’s comedy showcase Verified Stand-Up. Hoffman can currently be seen in a recurring role on Hacks, and will next star as a fictionalized version of herself in the newly announced HBO series Unentitled, per Deadline.

Youssef is another Netflix regular, having co-created two series for the streamer: the Mo Amer series Mo and upcoming Will Ferrell series Golf, in which he also stars. Netflix announced last year that it had entered into a first-look development deal with Youssef.

The REAL ID topic may be Mulaney’s most timely yet. The updated form of government-issued identification is required by law to enter airports and government facilities. First passed in 2005, governments will begin enforcing the requirements tomorrow. Mulaney is bringing in AAA spokesperson Aixa Diaz as the show’s expert on the topic. (Select AAA branches are offering services to upgrade IDs to be REAL ID-compliant.)

Once again, music for the show will be provided by two artists joining forces specially for the occasion. Fresh off releasing their latest record Dan’s Boogie, indie rockers Destroyer will join forces with singer-songwriter Jessica Pratt for the show. (Pratt and Destroyer frontman Dan Bejar previously connected for a conversation published by Interview Magazine.)

Mulaney has made a habit of arranging musical super-duos, pairing Kim Deal with Kim Gordon, and John Cale with Maggie Rogers.

Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney streams live on Netflix Wednesdays at 10 PM ET/7 PM PT.
