Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney has picked up its first trophy, earning a Gold award at the 2025 Clio Entertainment Awards for its weekly promo campaign.
The series’ offbeat promo spots—directed by Everybody’s Live segment director Brook Linder and featuring Mulaney alongside Richard Kind—were honored in the Audio/Visual Campaign category. The teasers became a hallmark of the show’s 12-episode run, blending noir-style tension with the surreal tone of the show’s filmed pieces.
Netflix received the award Thursday as part of the Clio Entertainment ceremony, which also recognized campaigns from Severance, The Studio, Abbott Elementary and FX: Earth. The Clios honor creative excellence across entertainment marketing, selecting multiple Bronze, Silver and Gold winners and one Grand Clio per category.
Linder shared the news in a text to Mulaney—which the comedian later posted on Instagram—writing, “Dude, the promos won a gold Clio… It’s like us and Severance and Alien: Earth.” Mulaney replied, “Woah. This is amazing.”
While Everybody’s Live earned strong critical notices during its March–May run, the Clio represents the show’s first award. The series submitted for Outstanding Talk Series at this year’s Emmys after its predecessor, Everybody’s in LA, was moved to that category in 2024. It did not secure a nomination but did land one nod for Outstanding Technical Direction and Camerawork for a Series.
Everybody’s in LA previously won a Critics Choice Award, a Television Critics Association Award and a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Picture Editing for Variety Programming.
Everybody’s Live ran for 12 episodes from March through May. While Netflix originally issued a two-season order, the streamer has since remained mum on the show’s future.
