Jimmy Kimmel turned a new YouGov survey into monologue fodder Monday night, telling his Jimmy Kimmel Live! audience that he’s officially polling ahead of Donald Trump.
“They polled more than a thousand people, and I lead Trump by 16 points,” Kimmel said. “I’m at plus 3, he’s at minus 13.” The ABC host added, “Considering the fact that I’m not a convicted felon friend of Jeffrey Epstein and I’ve never paid off a porn star, I feel like my rating should be higher maybe?”
Kimmel, who’s traded barbs with Trump for years, continued, “At this point, finding a toenail in your salad has a seven-point lead over Donald Trump.”
Kimmel wasn’t the only one to take note of the poll. The White House, in a statement Monday, said of Kimmel, “Over 77 million Americans showed up on election day to cast their ballots for President Donald J. Trump, who is delivering on his overwhelming mandate to put America first. Jimmy Kimmel prays every night to garner a fraction of that support to keep his show on air after ratings dropped 64% last week. Sad!”
Kimmel’s retort? “You know what else is sad? That the president of the United States has a lower approval rating than Diddy and diarrhea. That’s what’s sad.”
Kimmel was back home in Hollywood on Monday after a week of shows in Brooklyn, opening the night by joking, “It was a crazy week because, you know, for a while there—never mind our trip—we didn’t even know if our show was still on.”
