Jimmy Kimmel welcomed an unexpected visitor to Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night, the man behind one of the most viral videos of the year.
The appearance came at the close of Kimmel’s mini in-show awards ceremony for “Clip of the Year 2024,” celebrating the funniest internet clips that have aired on Jimmy Kimmel Live! over the previous year.
Kimmel’s nominees included clips from NFL GameDay, MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell, a British morning show, and Wheel of Fortune.
Ultimately, the award went to the Brits, with a clip Kimmel dubbed “Britain’s Got Talent.” The moment comes from ITV morning show This Morning, which earlier this year interviewed Matt Barr, a man with an unusual claim to fame: being one of the world’s most, well, well-endowed men. Beyond the gossip-worthy nature of the interview, Barr went viral for his awkwardly timed smile to camera when he was introduced on the program.
To present the award, Kimmel welcomed the guest of honor to the show. “Now to accept the award, coming to us all the way from London—he’s even bigger than Ben,” Kimmel quipped, introducing Barr via remote video.
“Sorry we could not bring you out here in person,” Kimmel told him. “ABC would only allow us to show you from the waist up.”
Kimmel went on to grill the amiable Barr about what his life has been like since the clip went viral, before presenting him with the 2024 Clip of the Year trophy. “Matt, we have a trophy for you,” Kimmel revealed, displaying the statue. “But I feel like you already have one of these.”
“Is there anyone you’d like to thank besides God, Matt?” Kimmel asked Barr before letting him go.
“I’d like to thank everyone here who’s put up with this conversation,” Barr answered.
