With multiple wildfires still burning out of control in Los Angeles County, ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! has scrapped its planned Wednesday night taping.
The show’s studio in Hollywood is well out of the fire zone, but events across the city are being cancelled as thousands of residents have been forced to evacuate their homes and firefighters and other emergency workers work to contain the fires.
Kimmel Is expected to air a repeat instead. Tonight’s scheduled guests Cynthia Erivo, actor Brian Jordan Alvarez and singer Victoria Canal will presumably be re-booked on future episodes.
The ABC late-night show is currently scheduled to return with a new episode Thursday, with Kimmel set to welcome guests Timothée Chalamet, Fernanda Torres, and the Lumineers.
After Midnight, late night’s only other Los Angeles-based show, just cancelled two tapings of its own that had been planned this afternoon. The Taylor Tomlinson-hosted CBS show will air repeats tonight and tomorrow night instead.
Meanwhile, Jimmy Fallon, who tapes The Tonight Show in New York, was set to welcome Jamie Lee Curtis tonight. Curtis is among the thousands who were forced to evacuate their homes Tuesday, with the actor posting on Instagram early this morning, “My community and perhaps my home is on fire… It is a terrifying situation and I’m grateful to the firefighters and all of the good Samaritans who are helping people get out of the way of the blaze.”
