Jimmy Fallon Sets a Date With Hot Ones

Jimmy Fallon’s Holiday Seasoning press tour is about to get spicy.

Fallon has been on a media barnstorm in the lead-up to the release of his first Christmas album (out November 1), appearing everywhere from The Howard Stern Show to Watch What Happens Live to The Drew Barrymore Show to Live with Kelly and Mark. Now in the home stretch, he will be cranking up the intensity by participating in a Hot Ones interview.

Over almost a decade, Hot Ones has become an internet sensation, netting well over 2.5 billion views. Fallon is the latest late night host to drop by the web series, which has been hosted by Sean Evans since its inception.

The Tonight Show star has some pretty big shoes to fill, considering late night veteran Conan O’Brien’s April 2024 episode of Hot Ones essentially broke the internet. Currently active late night hosts who have also appeared on the show include Andy Cohen (2017), Stephen Colbert (2017), Seth Meyers (2019), Jimmy Kimmel (2021) and John Oliver (2024).

Although it has taken 348 episodes for Fallon to make an official Hot Ones appearance, he has some experience with the format. Between June 2019 and April 2020, he invited Evans to The Tonight Show to conduct four abbreviated Hot Ones interviews, the last of which was done over webcam in compliance with social distancing restrictions.

Hot Ones’ current 10-sauce gamut takes tasters on a Scoville Heat Unit journey from 1,800 to 2,693,000. Although Fallon tasted nine different sauces during said abbreviated interviews, the only two that have carried over to his full-length episode are Los Calientes Verde (36,000 SHU) and Da’ Bomb Beyond Insanity (135,600 SHU).

In a promo video posted to First We Feast’s social media accounts Tuesday night, Fallon expressed trepidation about trying both the new and familiar sauces, saying, “I don’t even want to look at these things. I don’t want to look at Da’ Bomb. Someone just take Da’ Bomb out of here.”

Fallon’s Hot Ones interview drops Thursday, October 31 at 11 AM ET.
