Jimmy Fallon is hitting the books again.
On Monday’s episode of The Tonight Show, the host announced a summer round of his Fallon Book Club.
Fallon’s last edition of the Fallon Book Club was just this past March, when he set up a March Madness-inspired bracket to choose a spring read from a selection of 16 books. The honor ultimately went to Nightwatching by Tracy Sierra, who was then invited onto the show.
This latest edition will return to the segment’s original format: Six books are up for consideration as the official selection, and the winner will be decided by a vote over the next few days.
The author whose book is chosen will again get the opportunity to be a guest on The Tonight Show.
The added exposure from the segment will likely also provide a sales bump for the chosen title. Sierra’s Nightwatching gradually increased in Amazon’s Best Seller Ranking as Fallon continued to feature it in bracket updates. After it was announced as the official Fallon Book Club selection, it had climbed from its pre-tournament slot of No. 20,143 to No. 46.
Fallon debuted the now-recurring segment in 2021 as “Fallon Summer Reads,” and fans voted on a final pick between six books. He brought it back as “Fallon Book Club” the following year with a pre-selected read.
The six books up for selection this go-around are:
- I Was A Teenage Slasher by Stephen Graham Jones
- The God of the Woods by Liz Moore
- You Are Here by David Nicholls
- The Paris Novel by Ruth Reichl
- Margo’s Got Money Troubles by Rufi Thorpe
- The Last Murder at the End of the World by Stuart Turton
Voting is open now at FallonBookClub.com, and closes at 3 a.m. ET / 12 a.m. PT Thursday morning. The winner will be revealed on Thursday night’s show.
