Jack Black’s School of Rock Students Turned Out for His SNL Return

Class was back in session for School of Rock this weekend when three of Jack Black’s students from the classic film comedy showed up to support the actor’s long-awaited return to Saturday Night Live.

Actors Rivkah Reyes, Brian Falduto, and Z Infante were in the crowd for the show’s live airing, which featured musical guests Brandi Carlile and Elton John. While Black didn’t call out their presence during his monologue, the trio could be spotted when he made his way up the bleachers while performing his big musical number, seated a few seats down from Madonna, and a row back from former SNL hosts Bill Burr and Kieran Culkin, who were also seated in the audience.

The three also shared photos from their time in the show’s audience, including poses in the SNL photo booth and a group shot with Black.

“Love you @jackblack,” Infante wrote. “Thank you for the masterclass tonight.”

“Had a blast in god’s country,” Reyes wrote, referencing last week’s Morgan Wallen controversy that spawned a merch line from Wallen and three different responses from SNL this week.

Black top lined School of Rock in 2003. The Richard Linklater-directed comedy later spawned a Broadway musical and a Nickelodeon TV series.

Reyes played Katie (aka Posh Spice) in the film, bassist for Black’s teacher character Dewey Finn and his students, whose band is dubbed “The School of Rock.” Falduto’s character, Billy (aka Fancy Pants) serves as the group’s stylist, while Infante’s Gordon (aka Roadrunner) takes on lighting duties.

In addition to Burr, Culkin and Madonna, several other big other celebs were spotted in Studio 8H during this week’s show, with Paul Rudd, Adam Scott, and Lin Manuel Miranda captured watching “Weekend Update” in a behind-the-scenes pic.
