Doug Emhoff to Guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Thursday

The race is still on to see which late-night show (if any) will successfully book Kamala Harris and/or Tim Walz ahead of Election Day, but score one for Team Jimmy Kimmel.

Kimmel is set to welcome First Gentleman Doug Emhoff to his show Thursday night. It will be Emhoff’s first visit with Kimmel, and his first late-night appearance since his wife became the Democratic nominee for President.

ABC announced the booking late Wednesday.

Emhoff has been a consistent presence on the campaign trail this year, first for Joe Biden and then for the vice president once she assumed the top of the ticket. His only two other late-night TV appearances—with Stephen Colbert and Andy Cohen—came earlier this year when he was stumping for Biden. (He has since appeared off-camera with another late-night host, David Letterman, when the two co-headlined a Harris fundraiser on Martha’s Vineyard in late July.)

As it happens, Kimmel was the last late-night host to interview Harris. It was during her visit with Kimmel in June that pro-Palestinian protesters interrupted the show’s taping. (Their interruption was edited from the telecast before it aired.)

Kimmel, of course, has been an outspoken critic and antagonist of Donald Trump, famously getting under the former president’s skin on multiple occasions—perhaps most memorably when Kimmel hosted this year’s Oscars and responded to one of Trump’s social media posts in real time.

Also booked to appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live! tonight are Brian Tyree Henry and musical guest Muni Long.
