Bill Burr and Marcello Hernández Bond Over Deep, Dark Secrets in New SNL Promo

Hosting Saturday Night Live the weekend after a presidential election is a huge deal—and Bill Burr isn’t taking the job lightly.

SNL just dropped the first promo for this week’s show, in which Burr and cast member Marcello Hernández bond over knowing far too much highly confidential information about a range of topics. If only viewers could hear what they’re saying!

The promo kicks off with Burr and Hernández talking about who won yesterday’s presidential election. Of course, as these digital promos are typically shot on Tuesdays, there was no way for either one of them to know who won. So it was convenient that someone turned on a very loud blender just as they revealed the name.

The inaudible game continued as the two chatted about everything from Burr once finding himself in a steam room with a very “hairy” Rudy Giuliani, who just happened to tell the comedian that Jeffrey Epstein was murdered—and who did it. While Burr was happy to share that info with Hernández, a drill made it impossible for the viewer to hear.

“I didn’t even think he was a suspect,” replied a shocked Hernández, who shared that he heard a different story from his cousin, who reportedly works at the Pentagon. “He told me it was [insert the sound of a man using a leaf blower inside Studio 8H].”

Burr, clearly feeling like he could trust Hernández, admitted that he was “pretty nervous” about this week’s hosting gig and asked him “Do you party at all?” The SNLer replied in the affirmative and assured Burr that he had “a ton of—” as well as “a full bag of—.”

But whatever Hernández is holding will remain top-secret, as SNL‘s musical director Lenny Pickett sauntered by and drowned out the sound of the two men talking with his saxophone.

Burr will make his second appearance as host of SNL on Saturday, November 9 with musical guest Mk.gee, who is a Saturday Night Live first-timer. Burr was announced at this week’s host on October 31, putting to rest the question of whether Dave Chappelle would return to host this Season 50’s post-election show, as he did in both 2016 and 2020.
