Seth Meyers is adding another NBC project to his plate.
The Late Night host and his producing partner Mike Shoemaker are developing a new half-hour workplace comedy titled The Game Room through their Sethmaker Shoemeyers Productions banner, Deadline reports.
Home Economics creators Michael Colton and John Aboud are set to write, co-showrun, and executive produce the project, which is in development at NBC.
Meyers and Shoemaker will executive produce alongside Colton, Aboud, and Jason Carden. Universal Studio Group, where Sethmaker Shoemeyers has an overall deal, is the studio.
For Meyers, the project extends a producing résumé that has increasingly run alongside his nightly hosting duties. Sethmaker Shoemeyers, which he and Shoemaker founded in 2017, has previously produced A.P. Bio, The Amber Ruffin Show, Mapleworth Murders, and Peacock’s Good One: A Show About Jokes, in addition to Late Night with Seth Meyers.
Colton and Aboud created ABC’s Home Economics, which ran for three seasons, and their film credits include Penguins of Madagascar and Netflix’s A Futile and Stupid Gesture. They have also been developing projects for Paramount Animation and TriStar.
There’s no word yet on casting or when NBC might make a decision on The Game Room.
