Peacock Gives ‘Day Drinking With Seth Meyers’ the Series Treatment

Peacock is raising a glass to Seth Meyers’ signature bit.

The NBCUniversal streamer has launched a dedicated home for “Day Drinking,” the popular Late Night with Seth Meyers segment that finds Meyers and a celebrity guest consuming increasingly ill-advised cocktails in the middle of the afternoon.

Presented on Peacock as a series in its own right, Day Drinking with Seth Meyers launched last month, with episodes landing across three separate drops. As of this week, the collection includes all but one of the show’s 17 installments.

The lone holdout is Meyers’ 2022 outing with Post Malone.

While the segment debuted with Meyers’ brother Josh Meyers in 2015, it found a much wider audience through later installments featuring stars including Rihanna, Dua Lipa, Kelly Clarkson, Kevin Hart, Paul Rudd, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Sabrina Carpenter.

Rihanna’s 2019 appearance was particularly transformative. Meyers has said the singer had long been the show’s dream guest—and that landing her changed the segment’s trajectory.

“Our white whale was always Rihanna,” Meyers told Bon Appétit last year. “Post-Rihanna, the floodgates opened.”

A decade after its debut, “Day Drinking” has become one of the most popular recurring comedy bits in modern late-night television.

Despite that success—and a long list of celebrities libing up to participate—Meyers has generally limited the segment to around two installments per year.

“It used to be easy to say we’re only doing it twice a year, because nobody wanted to do it,” he told Vanity Fair in 2024. “Now it’s hard.”

Meyers joked that unlike other celebrity franchises, his comes with a built-in reason not to overproduce it.

“My one franchise is just like, genuinely a bad look,” he said.

The show bent its usual pace in 2025, producing three installments: Paul Rudd in March, Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers in September, and Sabrina Carpenter in December. Carpenter’s holiday-themed outing, which aired December 16, remains the most recent edition.

Peacock subscribers can stream “Day Drinking with Seth Meyers” on the Peacock app or at PeacockTV.com.

It’s a great segment, but yeah, a man in his 50’s shouldn’t be doing it more than twice a year. Dude has been legitimately trashed in a few of them!
