Pop Culture Jeopardy! is officially setting its return—and this time, the Colin Jost-hosted show is going daily.
Netflix announced today that Season 2 of the Jeopardy! spinoff will premiere May 11, with new episodes dropping every weekday through June 5. The 20-episode season marks a shift in rollout strategy for the series, which previously streamed on Prime Video in batches of three episodes per week.
The move to a stripped, daily cadence aligns more closely with the traditional rhythm of the original Jeopardy!—not that either show would be mistaken for the other.
Hosted by Saturday Night Live star Jost, Pop Culture Jeopardy! puts a contemporary spin on the long-running quiz format, blending classic trivia structure with categories drawn from across the entertainment landscape. Contestants compete in teams in a tournament-style format, testing their knowledge on topics ranging from music and movies to internet culture and social media.
The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television, with Jeopardy! showrunner Michael Davies serving as executive producer and Bari Jean Dorman as co-executive producer.
Season 2’s Netflix debut follows the show’s migration from Prime Video, where it launched in December 2024 and wrapped its first run in March 2025. The streamer change came amid a broader shift in Amazon’s unscripted strategy, with Netflix quickly stepping in to order a new season.
Jost’s return as host was finalized earlier this year after being expected—but not initially confirmed—when Netflix picked up the show. His involvement continues a growing trend of SNL cast members branching into game show hosting, with Mikey Day (Is It Cake?) and Sarah Sherman (Human vs Hamster) taking on similar roles in recent years.
For Jost, the gig has proven to be a natural extension of his “Weekend Update” persona—quick on his feet, fluent in pop culture, and comfortable with the kind of rapid-fire reading the format demands. (He’s previously noted his “joke swap” segments with “Weekend Update” co-anchor Michael Che helped prepare him for the job.)
Colin can do no wrong, he IS THE GOLD Standard !!!
