The now-classic SNL sketch aired 26 years ago today—on April 8, 2000. We commemorated its 25th last year with two lookbacks: 25 Lesser-Known Facts About ‘More Cowell’ and a special ‘More Cowbell’ Screen Time Report.

Martin Herlihy’s “Simon’s Life” joins three others—“CPAP Commercial,” “Chili’s Waitress,” and Update feature “A Guy and His Girlfriend Who’s Always Cold”—marking the show’s largest single-episode drop since Season 45, not counting the at-home era.

Because hosts are credited differently than cast members, returning alums like Amy Poehler can still compete in guest categories under revised rules. Variety has the story.
