“Great show! You were so good,” Heidi Gardner tells Chris Rock as she and musical guest Gracie Abrams hug the bewildered host.

“Five Seconds!” Those screamed words from the original SNL stage manager’s mouth are nearly as iconic as the show itself, but as actor Justin Smith—who played Dicso in Jason Reitman’s Saturday Night—describes, that’s basically all he had to base his performance on.
