After two weeks on, Saturday Night Live is taking two weeks off.
The legendary sketch show, which aired its 14th regular episode of the season last Saturday with host and musical guest Lady Gaga, will next air a new episode on March 29th. NBC has yet to announce a host or musical guest.
With just six episodes before season’s end, SNL is expected to air two more blocks of three episodes, separated by another two-week break on April 19th.
The show is set to wrap its 50th season on May 17th.
Between the election in November and SNL‘s anniversary celebrations in February, this season has been anything but ordinary, beginning with a run of five episodes in a row ahead of Election Day, and continued surprise cameo appearances from some of the show’s illustrious alumni over the course of the season.
The show has seen very little turnover in recent years, but this year’s season finale may well be the last for a number of cast members. Though most cast departures are announced closer to the new season’s start, longtime cast members have often made their intentions known ahead of (or during) their final episode. Stay tuned…
