As Eboni Boykin-Patterson reports in The Daily Beast, the SNL boss is quoted saying “It’s the hardest thing for me to explain to this generation that the show is nonpartisan.”

Amy Poehler, Ana Gasteyer, Mikey Day, Cheri Oteri, and Chloe Fineman will take turns alongside Jenna Bush Hager on Today‘s fourth hour in the days leading up to SNL’s celebratory weekend.

Matthews, whose book of SNL bumper photos releases next month, will guest on The Tonight Show next Monday, February 10.
