After Donald Trump posted Friday night that David Letterman’s “ratings were never very good,” Letterman’s YouTube channel resurfaced a 2008 clip of Trump on the show praising the host for his “great ratings.”

Appearing at The Atlantic Festival Thursday, Letterman said “You can’t go around firing somebody because you’re fearful or trying to suck up to an authoritarian criminal administration in the Oval Office. That’s just not how this works.” [via TV Tattle]
