NBC’s One Chicago Wednesdays continue to have a halo effect on the network’s late-night programming, with the November 13 episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon averaging the most viewers 18-49 at 11:35 p.m., and Late Night with Seth Meyers winning the 12:35 a.m. timeslot in multiple audience measurements.
Per Nielsen live-plus-same-day data, The Tonight Show averaged 1,425,000 total viewers, with 202,000 viewers aged 18-49 Wednesday night. That’s up +40% in total viewers and +29% in P18-49 from the night before, +10% but -10%, respectively, from the previous Wednesday’s episode. Fallon’s guests on Wednesday’s Tonight Show were Cynthia Erivo, Martha Stewart, and Travis Fimmel. Emma Willmann performed stand-up.
Despite The Tonight Show‘s strong performance, CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert still averaged the most total viewers at 11:35 p.m. at 1,737,000. Among viewers viewers 18-49, Wednesday’s Late Show averaged 196,000. That represents a -6% decline in total viewers and a -5% decline among P18-49 from Tuesday’s “Sexiest Man Alive” reveal episode. The Nov. 13 Colbert also shed -6% and -21%, in those respective measurements, from the previous Wednesday episode (last week’s the post-election show ). Zoe Saldaña, and Ken Burns were Colbert’s guests on the Nov. 13 Late Show.
Wednesday’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! averaged 1,571,000 total viewers with 148,000 P18-49 on ABC. That’s down -11% in total viewers and -1% among viewers 18-49 from Tuesday night’s episode, +3% and -19%, respectively, from the previous Wednesday’s episode. Kerry Washington, and Jimmy O. Yang were Jimmy Kimmel’s guests Wednesday, while music act The Red Clay Strays performed.
Moving ahead to 12:35 a.m., the Wednesday, Nov. 13 episode of Late Night with Seth Meyers averaged a timeslot-high 926,000 total viewers with 140,000 P18-49. That’s up +24% in total viewers and +10% among P18-49 from Tuesday’s episode, but -3% and -14%, respectively, from last Wednesday’s post-election episode. Hugh Grant, and Jonathan Bailey were Seth Meyers’ guests on Wednesday, Nov. 13.
Airing after The Late Show, the Wednesday, Nov. 13 After Midnight averaged 603,000 total viewers with 127,000 P18-49 on CBS. That’s down -5% in total viewers but up +19% in the P18-49 demo versus Tuesday’s episode, -5% and -9%, respectively, from the previous Wednesday’s episode. Maria Bamford, Murray Hill, and Aya Cash were Taylor Tomlinson’s guests on the comedy panel program.
Following Kimmel, the Nov. 13 edition of Nightline averaged 755,000 total viewers with only 65,000 P18-49 on ABC. That’s -15% in total viewers and unchanged among P18-49 from Tuesday’s episode, -1% but -40%, respectively, from the previous Wednesday’s episode of Nightline.
The Wednesday, Nov. 13 edition of Comedy Central’s The Daily Show hosted by Jordan Klepper averaged 515,000 total viewers with 105,000 viewers 18-49, per Nielsen live plus same day data. That’s up +24% in total viewers but down -3% among P18-49 from Tuesday’s episode (also hosted by Klepper), -2% but +3%, respectively, from the week-ago episode (hosted by Desi Lydic). Klepper’s Wednesday night guest was rapper-turned-leader of the opposition in the Belize House of Representatives, Moses “Shyne” Levi Barrow.
