Mike Myers made his second appearance on Saturday Night Live as Elon Musk in as many weeks tonight.
Appearing in the show’s cold open, Myers-as-Musk was once again paired with James Austin Johnson‘s Donald Trump and Marcello Hernandez‘s Marco Rubio in the Oval Office as Trump brokered an imagined truce after the two reportedly butted heads this week in an explosive cabinet meeting.

Myers made his debut as the tech mogul in last week’s cold open, which imagined Musk crashing Donald Trump‘s Oval Office confrontation with Ukranian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Though he appeared two weeks prior on SNL‘s primetime 50th anniversary special, it was Myers’ first appearance on a regular episode of Saturday Night Live since 2015.
Online reaction to SNL‘s chain saw-wielding Musk was swift and largely split along party lines. Musk himself issued a terse five-word response Sunday afternoon: “Humor fails when it lies.”
The sketch was the most talked-about moment of last week’s Shane Gillis-hosted SNL, quickly rising to the #2 position among this season’s ten most-viewed sketches on YouTube (and rising).
