Damon, Affleck, and Fallon Are ‘3 Guys From Boston’ Naming Every Massachusetts Town

If you call the Bay State home, you were bound to hear your city or town name-checked on Tuesday’s The Tonight Show.

Ahead of Jimmy Fallon‘s sit-down with guests Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, the three friends appeared on-stage as “3 Guys From Boston,” who spent nearly five solid minutes taking turns naming every city and town in Massachusetts— from Abington to Yarmouth.

Affleck and Damon both grew up in Cambridge, whereas Fallon famously did Saturday Night Live‘s recurring “Boston Teens” sketch with Rachel Dratch.

All told, some 350 Massachusetts names were recited. And while there were occasional flourishes that broke away from the Bah-ston accents—Damon, for example, delicately read off “Manchester by the Sea” (as in the 2016 movie he produced)—there were few hiccups.

Save for towards the very end, when Fallon grappled with Winchendon.

When MattFleck officially sat down with Fallon, the conversation led off with The Odyssey, Damon’s upcoming epic via filmmaker Christopher Nolan.

“It was absolutely the pinnacle of my entire career,” Damon said of the film, due out July 26. “I loved every minute of it.”

Affleck then noted that whereas his own kids “never want to come to the set” when he’s working, “they were really psyched” to visit Damon at The Odyssey.

“My middle child is really interested in actually reading The Iliad and The Odyssey, and we went there, and it was really great,” Affleck shared. “Chris [Nolan] is a really serious guy and somebody I admire…. So, I was really, honestly, grateful.”

Damon and Affleck are out promoting The Rip, a Netflix crime thriller which they produced via their Artists Equity banner, and in which they star opposite newly minted Golden Globe winner Teyana Taylor, Steven Yeun, Sasha Calle, Kyle Chandler, Lina Esco, and others. It premieres this Friday, January 16.
