Tonight Show Rings in Olympics With Westminster Thrust Ensemble Encore

NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Friday night put the “rings” in Olympic rings with an encore performance by its most unusual ball bell choir.

The Westminster Thrust Ensemble—comprised of host Jimmy Fallon and a half dozen other fellas, each with a handbell attached to their nether regions—made its debut almost exactly seven weeks ago for Christmas. At that time, the septet “thrust” forth a most unusual take on the Yuletide classic “Silent Night.”

As LateNighter reported back then, Fallon had explained to the studio audience that he had long wanted to bring the Westminster Thrust Ensemble idea to fruition, but the its particular mechanics demanded “a lot of R&D.”

For this Friday night’s special Tonight Show episode, which led out of NBC’s broadcast of the Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games’ Opening Ceremony, the Westminster Thrust Ensemble went for the gold with a performance of the iconic “Olympic Anthem,” composed by Leo Arnaud.
